A small museum with a large collection of Viking and medieval local history findings, well displayed. A step up from the usual local museum, certainly, but not really that engaging for the casual visitor. The reconstructed scenes of Viking life are a bit lacking, compared...More

In all fairness the museum might offer a great deal of details but it all seemed crammed into a few rooms on 1000 small description plaque next to the exhibits. In comparison to other similar institutes which are not only better but also cheaper they...More

We were there with our kids, 6 and 8 years old and they loved it. There was a possibility playing and dressing like the Vikings did! It’s worth it!

Excellent museum in a lovely little town. Includes street dioramas and a full size ship etc. Well organised and presented, friendly staff and a great little gift shop too. Well worth a visit. Paul Jonsson, Woking, UK.

Rather small museum provides a glimpse way back in time with dioramas of Ribe's history and that of the Vikings. Good interactive / participatory exhibits for children. Significant narratives with limited language translation, this limits the educational value to non-Danish speakers.

Nice little museum if you can read Danish. Though too expensive for what you get. Only a few things are translated in English of German. The explanation of all the exavations is just in Danish. The musesm excists of two floors, on the upper floor...More
