Fun Canoe trip

They were very nice with decent equipment. Did not expect much but to be put in and picked up in a timely fashion. Did not make reservations, just stopped in. We were in the water within 20 minuets and they were waiting for us at the end. They do require by law that all cans or plastic bottles be in... More

When renting the canoe or kayak, make sure you have cash (no credit cards). The outfitters were very nice and the ride up to the dam didn't take long. River was slow with a couple of areas you had to walk the canoe (expected since this was September). Total time took about 2 1/2 hours. Bring a cooler/picnic and have... More

My 18 year old son got a kayak and my husband and I got a canoe. The trip was slow and easy and the scenery was beautiful. My son wished it was a little faster water, but there is no way to control that. We came in September. The service was great.

Very simple. Just go there and rent a canoe (cash about $54 for 2 for a 5 mile trip). You park near the place, which is where you end up. They drive you to your starting point and you just float and paddle a little here and there. Very clear water. We saw some wildlife (a family of beavers playing... More

We took the 5-mile, 2 1/2 hour "float trip." Wasn't so much a "float trip" as it was a "paddle trip." As the generators on the Beaver Lake dam were not operating (hence no major water release), there was very little current to the White River. there was, however, a TON of water in the river which was well over... Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. Extremely rude during initial phone call and upon arrival. They acted as if we should already know the answers to the questions we asked. Ridiculous and offensive.

One of our life preservers was ripped and torn so badly it was essentially useless. In addition, one of the paddles was cracked. Every time the paddle was switched from one side of the canoe to the other, water poured out of the handle end and into my lap. We paid over $80 for a 4 hour float trip and... More

We went on the 5 mile trip down the White River. It was plenty wide and flowing fast. We didn't have to paddle near as much as on other rivers. If you can time your trip to go when the water is let out of the dam, then you go faster. Since this river is wide, there is no concern... More

Kayaking and canoeing the White River was supposed to be the highlight of our last camping trip of the summer. I researched an outfitter online and this resort seemed to be the best. It was also close to our camping site on Beaver Lake (The "Pines" at the Dam on the riverside.) I called to make reservations and was told... More

We were staying in other cabins about 3 miles from here and was suggested to stop here for a quick breakfast. Great deli selections for any meal. Conveniently located on 62 but also 3 miles from the dam if you are staying on 187 up by the lake.

Thank Shelly M
