A lot of the original camp and grounds have been knocked down, unsurprisingly not a reminder the people of Dachau wanted after the end of the war, nor the prisoners who spent time there when it was used as a hospital in the months following the end of the war. Having said that, the museum they have created in its... More

The site, as everyone says, is indeed moving. It is extremely easy to get to from Munich via public transportation and much cheaper than a tour. From Munich, you can buy an individual ticket for just over 8 euros, or a group ticket that works for 2-5 people for 15 euros and change. The ticket you want is a Munich... More

We visited in December. This isn't a place that you can enjoy, but is so worth taking the time to appreciate the memorial site and what it represents. So sobering. Everyone should visit a concentration camp to better understand to realities of this very recent historical event. Although I understand it is not an exciting subject. The museum aspects is... More

Make sure not to go there on your own, but to be accompanied by somebody who can give you real support, otherwise this visit will be even more painful.

We were in the Munich area and had to come here for a couple hours. Very educational and well presented. Listening devices in multiple languages available and we appreciated them.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I came here. I don't speak German, so I rented an audio guide, which was quite informative, and I was with a couple friends who are German and thus helped me further grasp the information. Needless to say... this was a most humbling experience, eye opening as a matter of fact. To learn about what... More

The trip to Dachau Concentration Camp was very moving hence an incredibly brutal part of younger human history. Nevertheless a must see and a must know if you are around. You would probably need days to properly get to know all the corners.

Our tour was through Radius Tours which treated us well, was quite organized, and the guide knew quite a lot about WW II and the Nazis. We were struck by the starkness of the site in that there is a great display in the supply building, but there aren't a lot of displays throughout. Our guide lead us through telling... More

It is a very difficult site to be as a human. The history of death in this place really recalls to the people's mind to avoid something like this to happen again
