This was our 1st monastery. It only took "300" stairs to climb up and then down but it was worth the effort. The church is beautiful, the view is amazing and the thought of how they built it and how they lived up so high.

We visited 4 of the monasteries amazing views and buildings of great historical interest. The tremendous effort required 700 years ago to get materials for the buildings up the rock columns. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting place. You will find peace here if you can beat the crowds. Absolutely stunning views and such insight into the lives of the people who live here.

Mandatory. Even if you have to do 6 hs by bus. There is a supernatural atmosphere.. Do it even in August, gli are on the mountain you won't suffer the hot climate.
