We took a drive to the lake which was a beautiful drive. Not worth paying for a trip when you can drive around and take your time.

The lake is fairly scenic, and worth a drive around if you have the time. There are several spots where you can stop to enjoy the view and take some nice photos.

A beautiful nature reserve, supposed to be teeming with avian life in summer. Well worth a visit in winter too. Location of many "Game of Thrones" scenes.

Although we did not take advantage of the Nature Baths we had a good look around. Lovely setting. Everything looks clean and tidy. Beware of the midges. They were the only flies we saw in Iceland. The do not bite - just swarm around you

This is a beautiful and interesting area with lava fields and mud pots. The lake itself is the central feature to the area.
