The Fintown Railway is the only operational railway in Co. Donegal. Set amidst spectacular highland scenery overlooking Lough Finn, the railway (3 m/5km) is a restored section of the former County Donegal Railway. This setting prompted the famous international playwright Brian Friel to pronounce ?What is on offer is a unique journey along the shores of a lake as grand as any in Switzerland or Minnesota.

Beautiful scenic railway line from Finotwn to Glenties, such a relaxing way to spend an hour or so of your time. The beautifully restored/maintained old world carriages are those that used to run on the railway line when it was opersating up to the 1940's...More

Well worth the drive to Fintown. A beautiful setting beside the Lough. The trip offered stunning views, the railcard was beautifully restored and the volunteers really helpful. The playground was an added bonus. Thank you for a great visit
