We used both cable cars: one up and one down. Very beautiful at the top with sweeping vistas and very nice rock formations that were shaped by the wind over thousands of years. I highly recommend to see it.

The closest mountains from the capital, but overcrowded and overexploited. Coming from decades of uncontrolled growth of the local lodging facilities and with a transport infrastructure in deep need to be modernised and updated. Nature is pristine...less are the human fingerprints on it.
The Bucegi Mountains surrounding Sinaia are beautiful and worth well exploring. But, to do so by car is challenging, not impossible. Road conditions vary from paved to gravel. Not recommended when the weather is bad or when the roads are wet.
