A pleasant walk down through the woods from the Peles Castle (past numerous souvenir stalls!) brings you to the Sinaia Monastery. There are two churches in the enclosure; one is a replica of the church at St Catherine's Monastery in the Siniai desert. This church...More

Stopped off here on the way back from Pelisor Castle and I'm glad I did. Although it doesn't take long to go around the art and paint work is amazing. To look at the detail that went in these buildings is wonderful and of course...More

This is a quiet but lovely spot. You can walk around on your own--no formal tour . It doesn't take long but worth the short visit.

A very old monastery with a lot of connection with the Romanian history. The tomb of one of the most important Romanian politicians is here. There is an old church and the new one better known from post cards. It is a very peaceful place...More

This is a beautiful place to visit for relaxation. Definitely recommend a visit at the old church and new church, very good for the soul. You can also find a bit of history here, as a prime ministers tomb is hidden in the old chuch.

I visited the monastery on the way to Peles Castle. I could say that the monastery completes the painting of Sinaia. The beautiful, sculpted pillars were built in the Brancovan style by the Cantacuzino family. Although the unnamed would say that it bears the name...More

A small and peaceful place, particularly after the sheer melee of Peles Castle. The old and new orthodox churches are beautiful, particularly the smaller old church in the quadrangle, now no longer used for worship. Worth a visit.

The monastery site houses a number of interesting buildings including the bell tower and the old church. It is in very good condition. The inside of the monastery is decorated with many frescoes.

An important religious site very well kept with a small museum and an old and beautiful church. The site is located 10 minutes walking from Peles castle.

Nothing particularly special. There are so many churches, Catholic, Orthodox in Romania. After visiting a few, they all look the same, including this one.
