The old structure with the archway out of the town is well worth the visit. The detail in the building is lovely and the light on the walls of the edifice are beautiful in morning and late afternoon sunlight.

We just wandered to this on a walkabout and it was a pleasant surprise. Great for photos and very quiet. The area around it is a bit run down/pointless. We were not sure if there was a mini museum attached or not. The signage didnt...More

This could have been one of the best parts of Carmona with historical wall and gate but the area that is the Gate of Cordoba, not the entrance to the Parador is badly neglected and run down. It is the highest point in the town...More

The Cordoba gate is completely different in style from the Seville Gate, but is well worth seeing. Furthermore, the walk trough this lovely town alone is worth the hike up.

This gate was built by the Romans although other occupants (Arabs and medieval Christians) have worked on it since then.

There are two gates to Carmona, one from the road to Sevilla and the one leading to Córdoba. They are beautiful preserved remnants of a time long gone and you will pass through them if you want to visit the Old Town

Carmona is less crowded than the big andalusian cities, yet there is a plenty to see. puerta de Cordoba has it's own time and story as well as roman via Augusta (as i've been told) still can be seen just outside this port.
