Lively square on a Sunday afternoon with pleasant mix of local families and tourists. There are good places to sit in shade or in the sun. Square featuring a low-key church has been redeveloped with elegant features, including plants and trees. Three dancers entertained crowd at café on northeastern side of square for 20 minutes before moving on to another place in town.

If there's one plaza I know I'm going to visit on any holiday to Fuengirola I take it's Plaza De La Constitucion .
The plaza was opened and named in 1841 by the first mayor of Fuengirola namely Antonio Garci'a Cotes after Fuengirola was accepted by Malaga as separate from Mijas.
There's some really good bars and cafés in the plaza which makes it a very popular destination ,there are two standout features of this plaza namely the beautiful Nuestra Señora Del Rosario ,a stunning looking church and the fantastic Monumento A La Familia ,a great statue that's most definitely a landmark of this area of this sun drenched resort ,my twin and I visited this plaza several times on our weeks holiday here ,we enjoyed iced cold beers sat out in the plaza ,had a great time ,if you're planning a holiday to Fuengirola it's a plaza to most definitely check out.

Nice square with a curious fountain. We have found her doing the tour with the city game of Questo app with Infinity, the black cat ;-) (very well done and fantastic to visit with children, if anyone is interested). Shadow and benches to rest.

This charming square with the Church of the Rosary is located off of a busy shopping district in Fuengirola. It's a couple of blocks away from the marina and carousel. Walkers will pass the Plaza Constitucion en route to the mosque where to explore the Sunday market . Rain or shine, you can always find a cafe, bakery or restaurant to relax and people watch. The local shops in this area have many unique and one of a kind items to enjoy now or take home for a great memory.

The plaza is typical of such plazas in Spain . Not the biggest or the grandest but it has a certain charm . The RC church is the focal point and it is a 19th century church , ornate inside. There are plenty of benches to sit and people watch . Some nice bars , cafes and if you venture over behind the Post Office there are many more quaint bars and cafes . Fuengriola is not all ‘touristy ‘ the seafront and a few streets in cater for tourists the rest of Fuengriola is a ‘working ‘ ‘residential’ town .

I don't really understand the rave reviews for this site, maybe its a reflection on Fuengirola ? we have been too many much better 'Plazzas' on our tour of Spain. Maybe its timing, on a cold, cloudy Tuesday lunchtime its really nothing special. I can see that with a major event happening it might be worth seeking out.

Such a beautiful square. It's changed so much in the 35 years which I've been visiting. It's pretty and welcoming with a beautiful church and plants and trees. The band stand is great too. Lots of cafes with outdoor seating to watch the world go by

Fuengirola is one of the jewels of the Costa Del Sol. There are some lovely restaurants off the Plaza Constitution, fantastic little independent shops and a lovely place to catch the sun. It is particularly lovely here in the winter months.

Me podían decir que variedad o tipo de árbol es esta preciosidad que ocupa la cuarta parte de la plaza. Gracias

Hi wondering what happens at the plaza on New Year’s Eve as four adults looking to celebrate please ?

Many people eat in one of the many restaurants around the plaza, or in Plaza Chinorros nearby, just behind the Post Office. Alternatively, one can meet friends in one of the bars, before going into the Plaza Constitucion to mingle with other residents or visitors gathering there before twelve o’clock approaches. The Plaza always looks impressive with its christmas themed decorations.
The tradition is to go into the plaza armed with a glass of champagne and twelve grapes (preferably seedless). Then, when the church bell starts to chime the midnight hour, to pop a grape into your mouth as each of the twelve chimes occurs. Don’t forget to drink your champagne before and after the grape munching. You probably won’t have time when consuming the grapes.
It is a great atmosphere with a great crowd of people. Have an enjoyable evening.

Is there anything going off in the weeks 4/6/17 to the 15/6/17 please as its our 1st time visiting fuengirola on holiday.

No festivals in June but plenty to do
Beach stretches for miles with decent seafront restaurants , try the direction of Los Boliches ( face the sea and go left )
Fuengirola has many bars and restaurants, visit the square by the Church and the Plaza which is one block away .
If it rains go shopping at Myrama mall , you can walk or take a short taxi ride alternatively take a taxi to Corte Inglais Mijas ( not the small one at Boliches).
Train service is cheap from Fuengirola, go to Benalmadena walk down through the park and head for harbour area - ferry back to Fuengirola.
If your not just beach people take bus to places such as Mijas and Marbella
Tuesday is Market day in Fuengirola, it's a bit of a walk in the direction of Los Boliches

HI! How to find it from Hotel Angela please?
Written October 16, 2016
I see another Hayling Islander has answered your question well. However, after leaving Hotel Angela turn right towards the Port, keep going along the Paseo Maritimo (sea front) until you get to the fabulous ice cream parlour "Verdu's". Turn right there and just walk another 100 metres into the Plaza and the White Church. There are several great cafe's there, our favourite is the "Costa del Sol" (try their Churros dipped in chocolate - fabulous!!) next door to the corner Farmacia on the left of the Church. Good luck and enjoy.

When are the festivities on in this part of Spain.
Written June 20, 2016
The two main fiestas in Fuengirola are in early May and mid October. Each last a week and the hotels get fully booked with Spanish families and the atmosphere is amazing Every city in the country holds fiestas at different times of the year. You need to find a web site that lists them, good luck.
