Delightful for kids of every age, it has fabulous collections of toys and amusements that we enjoyed and played with as children.

Dolls houses are exquisitely created with beautiful fine details. Model cars, fire engines and flying craft are engaging.

In 1901 a Liverpudlian called Frank Hornby invented a novel toy that he called Mechanics Made Easy. This was the enduring Meccano, assembled using just little spanners and screwdriver. A Special Instruction Leaflet No 19 is shown for a working Meccano steam shovel.

Early gramophone players of the first 78s are great to see, as are artefacts like sowing machines and children’s keyboards.

Another display has a fine model railway trundling through a realistic landscape.

Stopped here after the Dali Museum. We received a 30% discount by presenting our tickets from Dali. The museum is a collection of toys from various decades. There really isn't anything hands on for kids to do. My 6 year old was itching to leave pretty quickly. For the adults, it will bring back some nostalgia from childhood. We spent about 30 minutes here.

Low admission price, Well presented and categorized, Spotlessly clean and staffed by very pleasant, helpful staff. Within walking distance of the Dali Museum, itself well worth a visit, and the local market, you should not miss this attraction

Everybody come to this town to visit Dali's museum.
And ignore this really interesting place. There are a lot of old interesting toys, also Dali's toys, after main exposition you can try some of them or buy;)
Very recommended!

Toy museums are a tricky thing, needing to meet the needs of grown up boys and girls alike. The museum achieves this admirably and for me the stand out attraction was actually the varied collection of model cars on the ground floor, closely followed by the trains up stairs.
If you've already visited the Dali Museum, keep your ticket and get in for half price!

A very nice museum, not big but with a lot of toys from different times. A bit disappointed that the train model was partially working. Nice to see the toys development

We were here on October 2, after the madness of the Dali Museo et Teatro crowds. It is not air-conditioned (and I remember 6 floors of toys!), but it was blissfully quiet and unbusy. The toy collection is well-displayed and represents a vast span of history. You will find yourself saying "I remember that" when you pass by some of the items. We think of this place fondly and recommend it as a great place to visit in Figueres,

If you grew up outside of Europe, you'll discover you had a lot in common with European kids. Mothers taking pictures of their children bathing (some of which are here for even further embarrassment!), board games, and toys for all ages. The Spanish / Catalan explanations are all you get, however, as there are very few in English.

Photos: OK but no flash. That rule's a fair compromise, but the horrendous pink and blue lighting in that one room has got to go.

It's a fine second stop in town after the Dali Museum, though surprisingly your kids may not get much out of it. Most everything hidden behind glass, and the only interactive parts (e.g. toys they can play with) are simple games or a few things in the room by the gift shop.

This is an absolute charm of a museum that was the highlight of my trip to museum. While the Dali museum was packed to the rafters with crowds so you could barely get near the art, this museum was almost empty and packed full of fascinating toys and games from all eras. Perhaps not for everyone as it is presented in a largely traditional museum format, but I loved it.

It was like a trip back to my own childhood - but European style. Most toys from the mid 20th century were European in origin so it was fascinating seeing the internationalism in toy making even then. The spread of toys around the globe started long before Barbie. Totally worth the visit and a great place to hole up in a rain and hail storm!
