Saw Tommy after completing a lovely walk along the beach. He is surrounded by poppy wreaths and single poppies so fitting. He is never lonely so many visitors.

The people of Seaham crowdfunded this great piece of art and you can it's absolutely fantastic. Probably the most photoed thing in all of Seaham it regularly attracts crowds. Worth a visit to see this great piece of work in the flesh.

Tommy is seated on a box near the sea and appears to be contemplating the futility of War. Powerful and thought provoking.

Part of our regular walk is to visit Tommy. Outstanding sculpture a credit to the designer and an asset to Seaham, well worth a visit.

Tommy has had poppies added and a pool of blood red seaside stones at his feet to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice. The statue is much larger than I expected, and we found it very moving to reflect what he was commemorating. Excellent.
