We did enjoy this unplanned visit. Quite spectacular actually. Be prepared to spend an hour or so because there is lots to see.

I was completely blown away by the size of Tantallon Castle. It’s location, right on the coast, adds to the magnificence of this ruin. It is a castle that should not be missed.

Fantastic views to Bass Rock and well worth it for the coastal outlook. Castle is ok; could be more for children but there is a quiz trail that’s quite good. Lots of benches for admiring the views. Good little shop but over priced!

There are a lot of steep stairs inside the ruins. You could probably access most of the grounds around the castle (beautiful view) but it's a fair distance from the car park and you would be not able to see much in the... More
