An independant Cinema with charm that you simply don't get at a large multiplex.

Took my two kids, (age 11 Years and 13 Years), to the Regent Cinema to see the 1:30pm afternoon showing of "Hotel Transylvania 2" and it was great to see a movie in a small independent (Scott Cinemas) movie theatre rather than in a large multiplex cinema. The Regent has real charm and is a different experience altogether, more like... More

This elegant Art Deco theatre at the top of the town has just undergone 'surgery', and wow what a fantastic difference. The charm and elegance remains, sleek lines in place, colour palette perfect, the loos a whole lot better ( tho wished us ladies had an extra loo, the men have 3 urinals and 1 sit-down = 3 loos, however... We've used this place many times while holidaying in Lyme Regis. It has a great retro feel taking you back decades to the glory days of the local Cinema. The staff have always been helpful and efficient. Refreshments are good and the seating is comfortable, especially in the balcony where there are tables for coffees etc. Highly recommended!

Went with family to see the RSC live screening of Othello. Never been to this cinema before and it was a lovely old place, surprisingly large auditorium for an old picture house. Downside was the staff were a little slow which lead to big queues before the showing and again during the interval. In the latter case I only just... More

Wonderful little cinema. Only one screen so limited times of when films are on but that it understandable. We paid extra to sit on the balcony which was well worth itnas you get a view down below as well as tables between the chairs to put popcorn and drinks on. Little more expensive than your usual cinema but worth a... More

Always choose this cinema over the multi screen complexes if it is at all possible to see what we want. (Which is often). This cinema has just the one screen but seems to keep up with the latest releases. Agree that maybe it could do with a spruce up but that doesn't really bother us and anyway guess this can... More

This cinema offers a traditional and old fashioned service and a family ticket for the stalls is good value at £17.50. The only criticism from our visit was it was a little chilly.

We love Lyme's little cinema. OK - it could do with a lick of paint inside in places....but hey; it is just wonderful to sit inside somewhere that has probably changed very little in the past 70+ years. Staff friendly, traditional array of goodies on sale...and shows always on time. Also show older classics from time to time which is... More
