I find Cobb Beach to be one of England’s less tacky seafronts. It’s quiet even in August compared to other beaches around the UK and it has the added bonus of having a pebble and a separate sandy beach. You can pick which you want....More

Get down early to nab a spot just above the high-tide line on the sandy beach. Well worth it. Amenities well within reach and a very pleasant atmosphere. The pebbled stretch is much less busy.

Another beautiful beach along this strip of coastline. Walked round from car park in east towards the cobb then continued the other side in a hunt for fossils! Lovely beaches, great little town with quaint shops and food places. Plenty of public toilets too. Highly...More

This is a great beach on which to sit, stare out to sea, read the paper or a book, write postcards, or snooze. It is clean and safe. Since all the development work, there is no longer the curved wall to shelter under if it...More

Visited this beach as a family on our holidays to the jurassic coast. The town is stunning and the sea front/beach walkway one of the prettiest we have seen. The majority of the beach is shingle with a sandy section near the Cobb. This is...More

The Cobb is somewhere that I have visited with my family many times as they have grown up. The cobb has all you need for a lovely day by the sea, whatever your age.

Wow it was hot and shimmering like a blast from a furnace on this very hot day. Although it is stony, there is a little sand at one end. It was packed and people enjoying themselves in the sea which was flat calm and clear....More

Very clean beach with good facilities including toilets. The sea is very shallow and we found the man made sandy part of the beach perfect for building sandcastles.
