This church was largely rebuilt after the devastating fire of 1731 when some of the pre-fire stones were re-used and can still be seen at the base of the building. Inside, after a Georgian start, the Victorians got involved and so it goes on. The...More

We popped in to see the Church on passing. Quite impressive ceiling, not the usual style of interior either. We liked it , you may too.

An interesting building with many unusual facets, sadly it has been neglected over the years but we discerned a change in tempo and real involvement by the current Rector and congregation so expect changes. Really worth a visit and perhaps a moment or two for...More

Impressive church raised from the ashes of a disastrous fire in Georgian times. Local people seem very proud of it. Look out for the charity boards where the home guard crossed out all mention of the name of the town to confuse German invaders in...More

Quite interesting to visit although it would have been nice if there had been someone to meet & greet. Felt a little gloomy, we wondered if it came alive for services?

As we walked around, we could tell that this is a modern church and it looked very welcoming too. We are going to poach some of their ideas and try them out in our own church! Lovely building too and worth a visit.

Very easy to find as you can see the spire quite a distance away but was very disappointed to find the church all locked up. Well the door at the front wasn't but opened up into a broom cupboard so we didn't venture inside. We...More

An 18th Century architectural gem, with beautifully restored Cupola and wonderful apse ceiling. Quiet and contemplative atmosphere. Tea and scrumptious cakes served by very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant volunteers.

I went on a tower tour in Heritage week. Firstly, the church interior is stunning! The detailed plasterwork ceilings and intricate coloured ceiling above alter, drew the eye instantly. The guide has a wealth of knowledge and, understandably, a passion for the building which makes...More
