This is a lovely little museum. There is a good variety of exhibits and is a good way to spend an hour or so. Very good value for money. Collect an activity sheet on the way in. The lion one pretty much doubled the time we spent there as we couldn't find one of the items but were determined not... More

Tucked away, this venue is like a Tardis - the more you go round, the more you find. The 'special' exhibit of 300 years of fashion was smaller than expected, but we had not realised how much more there was to see here. Something to interest all ages - deserves to be better advertised as a main attraction for the... More

The Saffron Walden Museum is a good place to visit, for either adults on their own or with children any age. It is only £2.50 per adult to get in and children under 16 are free. The museum is only various levels and has a very large selection of interesting things to look at. On the bottom floor there is... More

Really enjoyed our Sunday afternoon rainy day out at the museum.Plenty of free parking nearby and the museum has lots of things to see from the local area as well as lots of interesting things from Egypt and Greece.Really lovely friendly staff and its well worth the small entrance fee and is suitable for all ages.

If you find yourself with some spare hours in Saffron and fancy doing something a bit different go and visit. Couple of quid to get in and there is loads of presentation cabinets from natural history, geology, history and costumes

Great surprise from local small place. Arrived late afternoon almost at closing time so had to rush the place in less than an hour. Could have spend little more time. The museum is small and evidently more geared to young age visitors - as primary school level. But that was fine with us to get the basic grip on the... More
