Despite the weather being unfavourable, especially as we'd planned a picnic, the house and gardens were still amazing! I would recommend that anyone who is interested in English history pays this house a visit.

Fabulous place and loads to see all day there. Staff in Victorian character and wonderful kitchens. Worth visitng again and again.

The house is a spendid Jacobean mansion with a Victorian service wing which houses a visitor centre, tea room, shop and toilets. A fine parterre next to the house and further afield the 17thC stables and yard with an exhibition " an estate at work...More

Basically this place is a complete rip off and English Heritage should be ashamed of themselves for charging the entrance fees they do. We spent £60 for our group of four adults to enter Audley End (£15/person) and I just think it wasn't worth it....More

You need to pay to enter the grounds, but there is no extra charge for picnincs
