What a gem. In the middle of nowhere. Amazing castle with amazing history. Perfect to walk around and enjoy English history. Few miles away in Donhead St Andrew is an pub 'the Forester'

Fantastic setting, enough of the castle standing to explore, interesting grotto in the grounds,lovely short circular walk through the woods outside. Has a small shop with drinks & ice creams. Great place for a picnic.
