Fantastic day at the beach with a difference. Watch the jets take off and land , but keep hold of your hats.

This beach is very beautiful but not appropriate for non swimmers. The first day I went into the water I was knocked down by a wave. However, on the plus side it is the only beach which offers the unique opportunity to view planes taking off and landing at very close range - an experience which totally compensates for the... There is nothing like standing on a beautiful beach on a tropical island watching a jumbo jet land right over the top of your head (literally). This is something I have wanted to do since I first heard of it when we were here several years ago and today I actually got to experience it! Very pretty (but very crowded)... More

I made it! Still remember from university we've been learning about the interesting places around the world, and at that time I thought "one day I'm gonna go there". Beach is not the best I've seen...BUT the planes just over your head is something unusual! The airport is literally just across the street and when the jets landing you have... More

The beach is very small, but mighty. Clear, blue, tropical water overlooking the ocean one way. Turn around and watch giant airliners land and take off from yards away. It feels like you can reach out and touch them. Super loud. Be aware the noise can be pretty extreme. Perhaps not for small children who may frighten easily. Parking (paid)... More

Love airplanes and LOVED this experience! This was the main reason we came to this island. We could walk from our hotel. As my husband said about the planes skimming over our heads, "mission accomplished, she screams every time!" It is sure to thrill and excite!

It's strange to think standing on a beach and getting blasted by a jet would somehow be fun, but it was! I think a certain amount of precaution is necessary, but for the most part, standing off center of the jet's engine will surprisingly exhilarate you! (Don't stand dead center or at the fencing.) I filmed the jet's take-off and... More

Amazing! Crystal clear turquise water. Planes landing couple of meters above you, and the take of is unmissable.

St Marteen's famous airplane beach. Famous for people watching as much as watching the airplanes taking off and landing across the street. Don't miss watching a jet take off. The people line up on the sand to get blasted by the hot jet engine exhaust. I don't recommend getting blasted, it looks painful. No trip to the island is complete... More

Walking distance from our hotel along the beach, it was fun to watch the planes arriving yards over our heads! Great picture opportunities - even from our hotel room.
