Fantastic geological artworks to be found at this attraction and an interesting little hike. There are lots of little things to look at, read and enjoy on the way.

Interesting interpretation of the local geology. Worth a stop on the way past to take in the stunning scenery. Also has toilet facilities.

Make sure to stop here if you're in the area! Absolutely beautiful views from the entire climb with a well-kept trail and a truly breathless (and windy!) panorama at the apex. The sculptures along the way were also quite neat - it's exciting to see an interest in integrating public art into the landscape. We completed many little hikes on... More

The thing we liked about this climb was the interesting facts that we found out along the way. The path was full of little facts about not only the rock itself but the history of the earth and in particular, Scotland! It wasn't too hard a climb - our 6 year old managed it with no problems, even with the... More

A fascinating place to visit. Very informative and surrounded by stunning scenery. Plenty of parking space and facilities. Conveniently located a few miles from Ullapool on the road north.

Knockan Crag is well worth a visit. We stopped here on our North Coast 500 trip and are glad we did. The kids loved discovering all the facts on the rocks around them and just exploring the area. There are toilets and a big car park but no other facilities on site.

I think we got lucky, we visited after a snowfall at a very quiet time of year. Parked the car at the end of the access road due to the snow and walked up to it (not far). We were the only people there and walked to the top of the cliff and down the other side. There was around... More

If you set off from Ullapool and drive north after 13 miles or so you arrive at the site of this fascinating crag of rock. It is a really lovely spot and one of significant geological interest. There is a small visitors centre which is worth seeing in itself, set into the amazing landscape. From the car park you will... More
