Get your boots on and enjoy the fresh Welsh mountain air, the smell of nature and the myriad hues of green that adorn the hillsides above the coastal towns. The trails are well-marked, it's difficult to get lost. Over the years, I've done them all without a map from Barmouth northwards for over 20 miles. Even during an exceptionally sunny... More

The path offers excellent views of the coast and of the mountain ranges. The signposting is in parts a bit weak, therefore, a good map is inevitable. It can be subdived in several legs as public transport running parallel to the path is quiet good. All in all, one of the most spectacular walks I have ever done - I therefore... More

The hills above Talybont provide peace and quiet, well away from the hussle and bustle of the city. The Ardudwy Way is well signposted, and simple to follow. Be aware that some of the path is boggy, so make sure you have waterproof footware. The bird life is typical of the Welsh uplands with Wheatear, Meadow Pipit, Skylark and Buzzards... More

Started the southern section from Barmouth to tal y bout, steep climb for the first two miles , but worth it for the amazing views. Well signposted , so you won't get lost. Once the see is out of view , your in snowdonian wilderness. We were carrying 12 kg backpacks as we were going to wild camp, would be... More

I walked the southern section from Tal y bont to Barmouth This is about 8 miles in length with 1800 feet of ascent and descent. It was high-quality walking all the way. The highlight was the arrival at the pass at Bwlch y Rhiwgr, where the breathtaking view of the Mawddach estuary, Cader Idris and the surrounding hills suddenly unfolds... More

Left car in Llandecwyn, taking the train to Barmouth. Completed in two days with B & B roughly half-way. Spectacular. Could not believe that I saw no-one in the 2 days who was doing the same as I as the route lends itself to a 2 day excursion. Had the advantage of a spell of fine weather so was mainly... More

This amazing trail connects Llandecwyn, (across the estuary from Portmeirion), with Barmouth, breaking down into 3 manageable walks, each suitable for a day's hiking. Lying between the Wales Coast Path and the extremes of the Cambrian Way the Taith Ardudwy occupies that middle ground - high enough to provide some fantastic views but never so demanding that it is beyond... The Taith Ardudwy Way website is a little unclear as to the length of the walk, so are most of the online reviews that I have seen so all I will say is prepare thoroughly, come properly equipped and enjoy! The route runs from Llandecwyn in the north to Barmouth (or vice versa) and is pretty amazing, encompassing a variety... More

This walk is an absolute delight, encompassing varied terrain and stunning views. Each section is a beautiful walk in its own right but combined it is 24 miles of peace and tranquility and provides a complete cross section of the beauty of Wales. Why there aren't more people on it I don't know but for now that is also part... More
