It's worth the stop and it's a great place to take pics and go for a walk. There are washrooms too if you filled up with coffee before heading there ;-)

A couple of acre area of big, wind blown sand dunes with scrub pines.....i didn't expect it, and found it interesting. You can walk out on the dunes but the tour bus does not stop there..

We couldnt believe it, acres of desert in the middle of alaska. Amazing sight. Our tour guide explained it was from the effects of glacial movements eons ago.

Although not really a dessert, I would definitely recommend a visit while in the Yukon. If you have a car it is an ideal stop during a day trip.

High and interesting. Covered with snow in winter. I was told people hike it in summer. Looks lovely as it is . Tourists stopped by to take photos.

Have seen tha Great Sand Dunes N. M. But never expected to see sand dunes in the Yukon. Our bus driver, Ann, stopped here on our way to Carcross to ride the train back to Skagway.

We rented a car in Skagway when we got off ship and drove across the border to Carcross, Yukon. Being Canadians, we thought it was cool to cross the Canadian border just to see Carcross, but it was well worth it. The scenery was outstanding...More
