This is a longish day walk but well paced by our guide Marcel who was a knowledgeable and understanding guide. The view of the Laguna Torre glacier and the pristine countryside makes it all worthwhile.

The hike from El Chalten was well worth it. It ended up taking us seven hours to and from, at a pretty sedate pace. Don't let the initial hill up from El Chalten scare you: the whole trek isn't that hard! In fact the initial 200m or so was the hardest part of the trek. The trek was a combination... More

Great trek, fairly easy with quite a long flat section. There is a mirador on the right once you've reached the lake. Few people walked up, it's a little steeper and harder, but it is worth doing. You get a great view.

We went there on a cloudy day but the view was still great ! Must be even better on a clear day. Take some warm clothes as the wind can get pretty tough. The path is clearly marked and well maintained. 6hours should be enough for the round trip from El Chalten (including breaks). The path is generally flat.

If you have one day trek, then go to Fitz roy, however Laguna Torre is pretty nice and i'm sure would be spectacular on a clear day.

This hike took us about 6 hours, incl some short breaks and a longer one on the Laguna. It is moderate to easy hike with a few km on a flat surface with no shadow (wear hats). Have in mind that there aren't many places to refill your water. The Laguna and Cerro Torre are magnificent, I would love to... More

Stunning location, as with most of Patagonia. Easy trek from El Chalten generally (around 27km round trip), with few up hills. Recommended as the first trek of the trip, to ease you in and immerse you in the experience. Well marked path, take water (2l) and some light food (biscuits, sandwiches etc.). Bring that camera and visit toilet before you... More

I would say this is an easy hike. With the hour at the lake it took us 5.5 hours in total. I'm not a huge glacier fan but the icebergs in this lake were out of this world.

Must go ! Outstanding views of the icefield and the towers. It is a long hike. Sometimes muddy but very very nice.

I set off to do this hike alone as my husband's feet were blistered from our hike the previous day to Fitzroy. Much easier going, even though it's similar distance, and when you finally climb the slope ahead of the lake with floating icebergs - just wow. Definitely wear good shoes and take snacks etc. If I had to choose... More
