The Miradores Los Condores path is a 45 minute walk up the hill next to the visitor center. It's a nice warm up for the bigger walks you'll be doing the next days, and has some excellent views of El Chalten and the surrounding mountains.

Easy walk. Lovely view of Chalten with the Fitz Roy framing it behind. You can do this in a couple of hours. Go at sunset and then head down to the town to drink a local beer.

The hike to these viewpoints will provide some excellent views, but be prepared for a significant climb even though the hike is marked easy on the maps and it is done by families with small children. Also, be prepared for some ferocious winds near the...More

We did this hike on a rest day between two much longer hikes. It's only about 4km, though it is quite a bit uphill in the beginning. While it's uphill, I would say anyone can do this walk and the views are definitely worth it....More

The Miradores are truly a great way to kick off your stay at El Chaltén. Los Cóndores (The Condor´s Lookout) is a simple one hour hyke back and forth with an overwhelming view of both "The Shire" and the Foot Hills and Southern Andes Mountains....More

This hike begins from the park office. There’s a historical tour in English and Spanish at the office, but not much else. Visit the bus station for more useful trekking info. This hike is mostly uphill but the reward is great view of town and...More

We did this walk on our day off from the longer walks and it was a good, easy short walk. The view from Las Aguilas in particular is good as it looks back over the lake.

I have scoliosis and I thought I wouldn't be able to do this but by taking small breaks I made it and to be at the top of that mountain on a rainy day was liberating. There is a small forest on the way up...More

This hike is a very easy hike, perfect for your last day in El Chalten when you are too tired to do a long hike. The views though are amazing, with panoramic views of the valley as well as Cerro Fitz Roy, it is worth...More

Hiked to Las Aguilas (out of the park visitor center) on a rainy windy day. A nice trail through meadows and forests, with an overlook over Lago Viedma. Lucked out and saw a rainbow over the lake.
