This site of the maoi statues in at a beautiful beach location with lots of palm trees and a picnic area. Go in the AM for best lighting.

Hi Deborah. You have to pay cash (USD) for the park entrance fee. You actually pay the fee at the airport as you enter the country.

A friend of mine was just there and said there were very few mosquitoes. It's usually very windy there and the wind keeps them away. Just in case, have a mosquito repellent with you.
