Every town village and city in Venezuela has a square and plaza dedicated to the great liberator Bolivar. This one is very pleasant and attracts tourists and locals alike. Due to its altitude Merida has a beautifully cool climate making this area perfect for sitting and taking in the sites and people.

Just as any other place in and around Merida, the Plaza Bolivar is a great place to visit, if someone happens to make the rather complicated trip to Merida.

You can spend a number of hours hanging out in the plaza. There are lots of people watching opportunities, food and craft stalls, and ongoing political and social gatherings. Definitely worth a visit for one or two afternoons.

A nice little plaza full of street vendors worth their local goods and many clothes, next to the cathedral. Worth a quick visit to take a look around.

Like every other town in Venezuela, the main square is the Plaza Bolivar. Merida is no different, ans this is Merida's version, In a city with few tourist attractions, I can see why this is on the list. But in truth it is a average sort of square with an average sort of statue

nice to visit if you are looking for a place that is near from almost everything at downtown, you can go to the cathedral from there and eat delicious churros, also ice cream and go shopping. At the square you can see an statue of bolivar on a horse.

Nice place to visit. Be careful with pickpocketing, though. Nice seating area, it's in the downtown area.

Nothing more than a square, it is not a Merida tourist atraction, it is a simple square where people can rest or walk.
