We took the shorter route into the cave (0.5km); very interesting to hear about the birds, fish etc and to see the oil birds leave at dusk. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I was amazed by the size and shape of rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites. It is the second cave of its type in South America. It’s inhabited by bats. The weather in Caripe is nice and cool.

Very different from any cave I have visited. Guacharo cave is inhabited by a special species of bats. The floor is covered with bat poop which looks like dirt. Hiring a guide was useful as it gave us very interesting information. (visited in 2005)

Sounds much better in spanish. Very interesting attraction. Nice that only natural lighting is allowed. Nice little museum outside of the park as well.
