Its a big lake beside Laguna verde. Its not so charismatic as the Laguna verde, but it’s not not toxic. It supports life and flamingos , aquatic animals and plants are there. All tourists come to see the Laguna verde but also see this.

After having seen Laguna Colorada, Laguna Verde, Hedionda and all the others coming from Uyuni, this very last stop before the Chilean border is less impressive. It is a nice lake with volcanoes in the background, but not as stunning as the previous ones.

The snowy mountains behind the Laguna make a wonderful backdrop. It is a very beautiful lake and certainly lives up to the name of White Lake as there are heaps of borax around the lake. In winter it can be very cold

The lake gets its name (White Lagoon) from the high quantity of the mineral borax in the water, making it seem white. The reflections of the mountains in the water are almost perfect, but a dark blue sky will seem a lighter blue in the reflection. Just stunning!

This beautiful lagoon (close the green lagoon, Laguna Verde), is nestled in Bolivia's southwest corner, close to the Chilean border (not in Uyuni). There are lots of fossilized coral rocks along its shore.

The first surprise wasn't that this laguna looked white, it was that at one point it is joined to Laguna Verde. The changing colour due to differing minerals present, absolutely amazing lagoons.

This was a very pretty lake and did not expect it to be so. This was our first stop after the border

If you think that the Dalà desert (its colors and sculptures) will be the highlight of your trip, the Green and White lagoons appear to amaze you before you leave or enter Bolivia.
They are impermissible.

This lake is stunning, the view take you a bit by surprise if you come form San Pedro de Atacama as it is not far from the Bolivian border at all. Quite high, so take it easy and drink lots of water but really beautiful.

This was a beautiful white lagoon that gets its colour from the borax concentration in the water. The scenery is amazing and there were flamingos and other birds in the water. It was neat to see and photograph such a different lake. The only downside is that it is on the main route for all the tours and there were a lot of vehicles, jeeps and trucks stopping so the area was filled with people coming and going. Otherwise, looking out onto the water and birds was very peaceful.
