If you have an afternoon free while in Leticia, take a moto-taxi to KM 7.7, walk about a kilometer and visit this garden. The folks are great, very informative about medicinal plants and jungle flora, plus get some cultural aspects and view 3 styles of Malokas, try a blow gun, shoot an arrow. Bring binocs if you are a birder!... More

I took the km11 bus here from the park in Leticia for $2000COP and walked down the road a few minutes to reach it. Just watch for the sign on your right and the driver will let you off. Very welcoming, went out of their way to make my day excellent. I did the first tour in Spanish, which I... More

If you go on one "tour" in Leticia, start here. This is an interesting cultural, ethnic, and bio-sustainable tour of a small section of jungle right outside Leticia. It is a program funded by tourists who pay a reasonble fee to walk through the botanic and cultural "village" learning about Amazon flora and indigenous culture. The lunch included is outstanding!... The most complete story you can get about Amazonas' nature and culture. Owner and guide Rafael speaks perfect English and could answer any question. The tours really gives you a new conscious perspective on your Amazonas experience!

All you get in this trip (and pretty expensive) is somebody telling you the names of the plants they have around. And some other made out stuff about roots of the Amazonas culture (nothing really original)

We came to the mundo amazonico on our own, with a tuk tuk. ( Only the taxi can reach the entrance, the tuk tuk left us 10 min walk away.) Once welcomed, we decided to pick 2 routes of the 4 suggested ( 10 000 COP/ route). Our guide spend a long time to explain the local fruit trees and... More

Like two years ago, I went to this amazing place... This time with my girlfriend and my father. We had a very nice time with our guide Johnny who explained is everything about the Amazon and all its animals and plants. The lunch we had there was delicious and we took 12 packages of the very tasty Amazon tea (you... More

It was a lovely stay. We learned so much about the Amazon world, but in a very interesting way. The Founder was our guide and he explained to us how the native Indigo people live and how they hunt for example. Furthermore he showed us around the garden trees and flowers and explained us the function of some special trees... More

It was a swelteringly hot afternoon and we were waiting at the reception lodge for our bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) guide Raphael. From the moment he arrived we then had three hours of interesting, but not too heavy, information about the fascinating Amazonian flora. It's incredible how many day to day products that we use directly or indirectly link... More
