We took a taxi to the gardens. We had planned on seeing them, but we were told that we had to pay $50 to see a show, eat some food and then see the gardens. Perhaps because a cruise ship was doing a shore excursion to the gardens was the reason. We skipped it.

Lucy makes the best fish and chips I have had in Tonga! The fish was fresh and locally caught and the chips were made from plantain and kumera and so delicious dipped in Lucy's home made papaya relish. Adding to that you can pair that with a really cold beer. The beach itslef was great to have a swim in... More

This cafe is a must for Fish and Chips, accompanied by the most wonderful stories of the area. There is a sea water swimming pool, great snorkeling off the reef, followed by first class Fish and Chips and the best chutney I have ever tasted.

I went with three friends to visit the beach and eat at the Ene'io Botanical Garden restaurant. A fabulous time. The beach pool was so special - we all sat in the crystal clear water and swam for ages. It was a very hot day so the time in the water was heaven. If you can go at high tide.... More

We went with a private tour of 37 people to Haniteli's Gardens The tour was wonderful from beginning to end. Haniteli has such a terrific knowledge of his gardens and the traditional crafts of Tonga. With his gentle sense of humor he guided us through his gardens and demonstrations from his way of life. After the demonstrations we were taken... More

After reading about this garden we took a local 'taxi' on the off chance it was open. The owner and staff were expecting a large group and were more than happy to accomodate us.
