we rented bikes to see the park. Unfortunately there were lots of cars driving on the same road as bikers. We got so dusty due to that. If you rent a bike, you need to bike minimum 7 KM (one way) to get to see...More

Exploring Hell's Gate Park is always fun when with the right people (group). Scaling the Fischer Tower is enjoyable though you have to pay for the rock climbing at the site, on top of park fees. Cycling is fun. Kids enjoyed the kids bicycles. The...More

We enjoyed exploring Hell's Gate National Park on foot. People will try to convince you to get a bicycle or drive around - we are the walking type. Just remember to leave earlier than we did...@1400. We did manage to cover 16 km though before...More

Must visit place, its located in between tall mountains with thick long grass around. The road is dusty inside the park. 26$ entry fee for foreign nationals. Cycle rental is available for 400 KSH.

Stunning scenery, not many animals. Park has a geo thermal plant built inside built by the Chinese, spoils it a bit.

Visited recently and hiked into the gorges until we reached "the devil's bedroom". The views are stunning form all angles and the guide did a good job to guide us to where to step and how to scale those tricky drops. It was a fun...More

Hell’s Gate is wonderful – just like everyone says! I didn’t have much time and thus paid about 300 KSH extra to drive to the gorge’s trailhead. It seems as though everyone follows the same route regardless of whether they visit by foot, bike, or...More

As almost everyone does (or should) we opted to explore the park by bike. Simply a great way to get very close to the animals as they're hardly disturbed by your presence. Got loads of zebra, gazelle, water buffaloes, elands and warthogs (didn't see the...More

Lovely and peaceful to bicycle beside giraffes, zebras and warthogs. Went on a weekday morning so not much traffic and felt pretty safe, even without a helmet. Biked to canyon, then decided to continue through the park to other side. The second side of the...More

Fantastic landscape, and surreal walk / bicycling around zebras and pumbas. We have been there twice and wouldn't mind going a third time :)

Getting a guide is helpful especially if you are not familiar with the gorge- there have been cases of people getting lost in the gorge only to be found late in the night. You will have to pay for the guide separately... More

It is possible to walk but it is a long distance. Again it is not very safe because of dangerous wild animals. The idea of a game guide and olkaria is excellent.
