My 4 colleagues and I had a terrible experience at this establishment because of the hotel manager whose name is John. Our travel agent had booked 4 rooms and paid in full in advance. When we got there, we found that John had given out our rooms and he was insisting that he will take us to an accommodation outside the hotel (which he did not want to give the name of the place). When we confronted him about this, he was very rude to us and he kept on lying which pushed us to involve our travel agent. He did not want to admit that he accepted money from other people mainly because it was during the safari rally weekend. We ended up having to go back to Nairobi in the middle of the night because all the hotels in Naivasha were fully booked. This was such a bad experience and even worse we did not get an apology from John. We chose the place because it was beautiful and serene, it's so sad we did not get to stay because of the manager's greed.

I would love to go back only if John is not the manager.

Located off the beaten path and absolutely worth the trip. We enjoyed our walk up to the highest point and the view was breathtaking. The food and service at floating restaurant was superb!
A great place to visit while in Naivasha.

Took a group of children there and even though we didn't see any game, the views from the top of the crater were beautiful. The hiking trail wasn't so bad for the children although we didn't go all the way round. I saw a beautiful swimming pool from the top, something to try next time.

The guides we very helpful and encouraging too.
The entrance fees were also quite reasonable.

I would have loved to see the buffaloes though:)

if you want quiet and a complete sense of being in another world, this is it. You suddenly drop down this step path that leads to a small lake in this crate and once there, all outside world is gone. Even the mobile phone does not work here. Just you, some small not so great restaurant, trees, bush, water and flamingoes. Awesome. This is a place you bring a camera - and a book. Nothing else.

There are 2 attractions from what I understand: walking the crater rim and visiting the animal sanctuary. Both can be easily done in one day, and combined with lunch. We have only hiked the crater rim which we enjoy, seeing giraffes and buffalo up close. Lunch is also pleasant on the edge of the crater's lake. The second time we visited, they waved the park fee if you took lunch. Worth it.

Dear Sir. We promise you more activities this time: bird watching with more than 400 species available, discovery sporting, tree planting, boat riding at the Crater Lake while being educated on how the lake was formed, Both day and night game drives, counting of the stairs. The nature walk coupled with sundowner are a loveable experience. Welcome to Crater Lake once more.

Terrible experience ... we had to paid a costly entrance fee for what ... nothing!!! You can not even walk around the lake as they did not clean the path..tall grass and bushes all on the path.,
You are expected to pay to enter into crater lake sanctuary and indeed you waste your money ... the place is dirty, not well maintained and ... nothing especial..,
I would not suggest to waste your money to enter into this place ...
If you are around naivasha I would suggest to rent a boat I naivasha country club and have a nice ride all around the lake .. beautiful experience.
For crater lake game sanctuary ... just avoid it.. I complained and asked to speak with the director but they said it was off duty...but Ut was an excuse as it was a working day and in working hours .. this means no respect for the guest.
Will never come back again and will
Never suggest anyone to come here again.

We had a half day trip here from Loldia House with our guide, Jacob. It’s great because you can walk around the area in ( relative, you need a guide!) safety and get quite close to the animals. The lake is very pretty and although we didn’t see the colobus monkeys, we did see giraffe, impala, topi, zebra and buffalo as well as a huge troop of baboons on the way in.

Went for a hike from the main gate, to the lodge with a visit to the viewpoint on the lake rim, then around the sanctuary for maybe 2 hours. Really nice being able to walk around alone; didn't see too many animals first but ended up getting really close to zebras, elands, warthogs, antelopes and buffaloes. You need some patience, but it's so much more peaceful and rewarding once you do see animals! Beautiful scenery too. We didn't have a car; travelled from Naivasha by matatu (DON'T trust the guys in the matatu park regarding price.. we really overpaid. Should be maybe 150 shillings) and got dropped by the gate. Then got a boda boda ride back to the nearest town once back at the gate (can be a bit of a wait until someone comes by). But perfectly doable without own vehicle.

I have been here before and was disappointed this year by the park. I remember there being far more animals that what was available this time.
We weren't expecting to do the whole crater walk, it was a bit much in the heat. The park used to be worth it but not this visit.

Thank you very much indeed you must put on the right shoes and attire. While taking the rim walk you should be prepared for a purely bush experience, juggling across stones, trees and animals is a great experience. Our guides are well trained to give you the best of knowledge during your nature walks and game drives. We'll keep enhancing them to exceed your expectations. Welcome again.
