A lion as a pet....well maybe not but that is as close as it can ever get. Getting up close and personal on a bush walk with lions left an indelible mark in my heart for years to come. While we could hear the roar of adult lions, we had to be watchful of the 3 lions we took for... More

The opportunity you have to get up close to lions/elephants is really something. I fully support conservation and believe fully they are trying to do best by the animals they have captive. However, I did struggle seeing them captive as if they are in a zoo. I also question some of the safety practices but I don't have enough research... More

With a conservation back story, Antelope Park allows you some close up experiences of big game. There is a wide choice of things to do. We spent the morning with the lions and were looking forward to the bird watching cruise in the afternoon when the heavens opened and we had storms for the rest of the day. Cost of... More

This is one of the best things I have ever done. From walking with 3 lion cubs, hand feeding and herding elephants through the bush, elephant rides and getting involved in the local town by teaching a special needs school basic English and Maths was just amazing.

What a wonderful holiday. We stayed in Serenity lodge over Christmas and woke up to wilderbeest and impalas grazing in the garden. Seeing the Ngamo pride of lions ready for release into the wild was inspiring, and horseback rides into the bush allowed us to get really close to all the wildlife. The giraffes were awesome. And the friendliness of... More

Stumbled upon this spot on my way to Malawi via Zambia and was pleasantly surprised. They have horses for lawnmowers, and lots of lions and elephant that can be viewed. Spent xmas here and it was really wonderful. I learnt so much about the conservation work they're doing with the lions which is really great. There are a number of activities you can do whilst there including walking with the lion cubs which was truly magical. By staying here you will be supporting a worthwhile cause.
