If you are an academic or backpacking student then this campus might be of interest to see how Chinese education works, The recently refurbished main entrance is impressive and imposing. However beyond leaves a lot to be desired, broken pavements, roads badly in need of resurfacing and antiquated dormitories. To sit by the lotus ponds and hear the birds singing can... More

I don't know why people would want to visit this campus other than for documentary reasons or excessive time to kill. I study here and it's not an especially beatiful campus. The architecture isn't splendid, the roads are average, the dorm buildings are boring, the lakes don't have anything special, and the people just go about their business. This university... More

With a history of more than 80 years, Guangxi University is well worth a visit if you want to see what Chinese campus life like and enjoy a quiet uninterrupted afternoon. Xi Da has its unique campus environment, many kinds of birds can be find there, the campus provided a safe and harmonious living environment for them.

Lived here for a year, the campus is great with a grand entrance, lotus ponds everywhere, and an amazing place called Doghole where you can try some pretty dang authentic Chinese street food. Afterwards, grab a Starbucks outside the main gate and call it a day. Good to visit if you like neat architecture and want to see a bit... More

I grow up around the campus and it's been my playground ever since. I have witnessed how it becomes the way it is today, vast, beautiful, breezy and oddly a little homey, :p Love to stroll around by the lotus pond in summer. The mango trees and jackfruit by the sidewalks make you feel like you are in an orchard.... More

I spent one semester at Xi Da and loved every minute of it. My professors were the best in China and I fell in love with southern China, especially Nanning. If you get a chance to study anywhere in China I highly recommend Guangxi Univesity in Nanning.

Easy to take local bus there. This university is quite big, you can easily spend one day here. A lot of shop and restuarant infront of university and ralso close to the Nanning zoo. After 'subway' complete this route (end 2015 or begin 2016) ,its also good to ride too.

To be honest, I've never really understood why chinese universities always rate so highly on TA - after all, there are hundreds of them scattered around the country, and for your average tourist, there is nothing to see or do betond walking around aimlessly ... And the guangxi university is the same ... yes, the grounds are karge and well-maintained,... More

I lived on the West Campus for three years. It was the experience of a lifetime. The people are friendly. The campus is beautiful with lilly ponds all over, and loads of trees bearing seasonal fruit for students to pick. There is an open market for fresh food and food stands with prepared meals. Dumplings, steamed chicken, barbecued pork or... More
