I've just visited Bagan temples. What a wonderful time seeing sunset and sunrise from above. But myanmar gorvenment just ban all tourists to climb up all the temples in Bagan from March 1st 2016. So its a pity for whom not visit Bagan jet :(

Next to Angkor Wat, these are the temples to explore! Rent an electric bike. That's the way to get around.

The vast expanse of temples is just magical, but a little hard to navigate on your own, unless you don't mind missing out on a few. We would have loved to walk, but the area is simply too large. We took an e-bike the first day, but got so worried about getting lost in the small roads and balancing on... More

Cant get enough of the temples of Bagan. This was my third visit though the first with young children. There is so much to see but after a while the children got a bit of pagoda fobia... Hopefully they will appreciate the memories and get daddy's pagoda euforia later on ;-)

We booked a tour through indochina voyages in vietnam , for trips around the temples of bagan ,,,,,where do you start , the tour guide was impressive and explained everything about what you needed to know about the Buddha statues and the temples , there are just too many to do in one day and I think even a week,... Although not that reliable, we used the electric powered bicycles to go around and explore. So much to see and went off track a few times. The local population was very helpful to help to get a replacement bicycle when it did break down. Plenty of places to stop, eat, drink and savour local dishes.

Old Bagan is pretty much about temples and lacquerware. There are tonnes of temples right from really tiny ones which are basically just statues in a crook in a wall to massive ones like Shwezigon. Take your own time and wander away - you can spend anywhere between a day or two right from sunset to sunrise admiring the differences... More

It will mean though getting a right guide for one day and the go back on your own later. There 3122 in all. If we see 20 we will doing well. Our guide Aung was a wealth of information . He was an excellent planner. We enjoyed he'd the diversity and the selection .

The temples were fascinating to see and where everywhere alongside the road, understand there are 3,000. To stand high on a pagoda and look across fields full of temples is an amazing and memorable sight.
