You get quickly overwhelmed and spoiled with the vast amount of temples. I took an e-bike tour to explore the area, then veered off on my own. Well worth the experience. But it's nice to have a personal guide to get your feet wet. After...More

This temple used to be about the coolest little temple in Bagan for sunrise seekers. But as of January 2018, you can no longer climb it. Still worth looking around a bit, but when I went back there last week, it was absolutely deserted.

Bulethi Pagoda is a very popular place to view the famous sunset drenching the many temples, stupas, and pagodas in a myriad of sunset colors in Bagan Myanmar. Some would say an ethereal experience. Our guide got us there an hour before sunset to access...More

There are endless number of pagodas, supas and shrines. It is a tourist thing to do, but after a few they really are just like another.

Today it is not allowed to go up by government. Once we had been there for many times and passed by horseback riding. But it is still amazing for photos.

If you're a foreigner, make sure you pay the $20 ticket in Bagan and make sure to keep that ticket with you all the time. There are roving officers who check them whenever you enter some known temple like bulethi. Go early so you can...More

The hotel I stayed recommended this pagoda to view sunrise. I suspect it was because it was less than ten minutes away, and climbing it was relatively safe. I believe most, if not all, pagodas involve climbing. My driver took me to two others but...More

We heard that some of the more "hot spots" for sunrise and sunset can be a disappointing experience because the crowds of tourists can detract from the moment. So we opted foe Bulethi, which was a lovely choice. The sunrise here is really beautiful and...More
