AN early start is recommended , we got a local taxi driver to take us and he negotiated with the security because we did not have correct footwear. We are taken to an office and loan some white wellingtons and some plastic socks ! Then it was a short walk to the front market, keep out of the way of... More

I would highly recommend this place for tourists. You can go at 5-6:30 in the morning to see the large tuna and marlin come in from the larger fishing boats. The only cost is boots rental ₱20 per person. Kids and adults will have fun seeing all the types of fish and boats.

Highly recommended if you're interested in the fishing industry. It is essentially a fish port and where you're allowed to observe and even participate. Don't expect this to be too developed for tourists. You get to see fishing vessels unloading their haul, very large tuna, resellers buying by the bull, and so on. As I was advised, I wore pants... I enjoyed the visit. The place clean -which should be the case because these products are for export. How I wish other Fish Port complex in the country should follow the standards of this port.

It was my first time going to the fish market in Gensan. I have been to Gensan a numerous amount of times and never knew about the fish port! It was a good experience but not really my scene. Make sure you are wearing clothes that cover your shoulders otherwise you cannot enter the fish market area. There is an... More

I've visited the complex at June 2014 I was in my way back from London beach - it's completely organized place I enjoy the fish market and got some fresh fish - the fishing boats scene was amazing, I advise any visitors to general santos to take a look at this place.

The usual stinky fish ports are expected in this country. I was surprised when I visited this place because it was clean. White boots are mandatory for a minimal fee. I'm not sure about the roles of the persons in that port but they are all friendly. You can just ask them politely if you want to take pictures and... More

Since GenSan is the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. It is a must to visit the fishport and check out the fresh catch of the day. Recommended to come in really early because the fishes normally gets sold out right away. I was also surprised how clean their fish port is compare to the ones I have visited in Malabon.

Be there early in the morning to witness the unloading of tons of tuna from various fishing vessels. Be wary though that wearing shorts is not allowed. Make sure to wear pants and closed toe shoes for safety reasons. Nice place also to take snapshots of these export grade marine products.

We reached the port via tricycle, but the port authorities are quite strict that they do not allow even the tricycle drivers wearing shorts and slippers.
