Stunning statue, stunning beach, worth the effort to get there. Long boardwalk and plenty of places to eat. Plenty of shade and even time for a ride on a horse with a " cowboy"

You will see the statue if you go to Samilla Beach. Just to say you have seen it is enough. The beach is nice and the water is safe for swimming. Restaurants all along the beach. Not worth just going to see the statue.

This is a Must visit place of interest if you are in Hatyai. This Mermaid Statue has been in place long long time ago and tourists will climb up for a photo shoot. You can also stroll along the beach and can ride a Horse or rather Pony for just B100

I think that this is the nicest beach in Songkla. Lots of locals and some of the best beach seafood restaurants.

While the statue itself is interesting it is nothing special but the surrounding small market and beach are enjoyable. The seafood in the nearby restaurants is very good and recommend one of the small ones along the beach road.

The Mermaid Statue is right on one end of the Samila beach. Lots of souvenir and food shops and stalls along the beach leading to this Mermaid statue. On the beach, there are locals offering pony services and photo taking. We spent about 1 hour or so on this beach and yes, one need to be careful while going up... More

Visited the Samila beach late afternoon in October and it was very busy with lots of Thai tourists visiting the area. Hard to get a photo of the statue as so many people on the statue taking photos. However very pretty beach with horse rides for the kids. Lot's of stalls selling street food and souvernirs.

Visited it on a rainy day. We thought this to be Holland?? Sitting pretty by the breach, the sea breeze gently rolls the waves of the sea, reaching the sitting mermaid. We took a few close up photos, , a word of caution, the rocks leading to this can be very slippery. Two Thai cowboys came with their pony &... More
