It's a beautiful beach but the vendors are non stop. They block the view and come back too frequently.

A really nice beach, with both sun beds to relax on and a lot of water sports if you feel sporty! A lot of good restaurants along the beach if you feel hungry

Huge beach with so many restaurants around. Great place for kite surfers, many schools to learn how to kite surf. And great place just to relax!

Would this be a suitable place to spend three months away from Canadian winter? Are there large grocery stores close by as we would be renting a condo?

I recently visited Cabarete and being from Australia the water seem pretty flat to me. The Kite surfers loved it though.
