The Good. Palm trees on the beach where you can sit in the shade with beach chairs provided at the Wyndham Hotel.
No need for a wet suit but the water is still refreshing. The waves out 500m on the reef are well spaced and easy to ride.

The Bad. Only 9 kiteable days out of 25.. I have been monitoring web cams, Windfinder, Windguru and Ikitesurf for months and the wind here is not all that it is cracked up to be. Most of the research told me it was flat water. It is not! It is hard to get an edge for jumps in this bay where Bozo beach is located. Further west at kite beach it is flatter.
The shore break at Bozo Beach/Cabarete Bay is fun but if you are a beginner or weak intermediate you won’t get out without walking 2 km to kite beach.
This bay/Bozo Beach is a TERRIBLE place to learn kiteboarding, mostly because of the shore break and low tide limited space for launching on the beach. NONE of the schools have jet skis or zodiacs. There is no rescue.
Most of the accommodation on Bozo Beach are right on the noisy highway.

The Ugly. SUPER DANGEROUS RIP-TIDES/CURRENTS in Cabarete Bay/Bozo Beach!!! Yellow or red flags are up every day! Very heavy-duty shore break which can be fun, but if you get behind it or it takes you out, you may be dead if you panic, or are a weak swimmer. Like most riptides, rarely will it suck you down, it will pull you straight out from shore and then parallel to shore. If you just flow with it, you can swim back.
There are no boats, let alone rescue boats on this bay, despite the thousands of tourists here.

In the morning the beach is largely empty and you can walk for miles. In the afternoon when the wind gets up kite beach is full of kitesurfers and it is a stunning spectacle.

My fiance and I don't kite surf - but we loved just relaxing and watching those that were. It was beautiful!

You wont fing the luxury you get in Punta Cana but you will be on a beach that is just as beautiful. The atmosphere in Cabarate is more laid back, it has a small corridor full of beach restaurants to chose from if you want to go there at night. During the day you can rent beach beds, or walk (its quite a long beach), or swimm or kitesurf. No matter which activity you chose, this beach is good for it since its beautiful, wide and long and clean

Nice wide beach, genial slope to the ocean a constant trade wind blowing to cool it down a bit. In the afternoon you will see kite boarders all over the beach.

This expansive beach is not crowded, but not empty either. There are lots of kite boarders to watch, 30-40 spread over a wide are. Beautiful and entertaining to watch. The wave action can be quite vigorous at times but fun to fight. Watch for some undertow in certain conditions and places.

We had a great family beach day here. It's a long beach, so you can be in areas where lots of people are or secluded. It is windy, but it makes it feel comfortable when you are sitting in the sun. My boys loved jumping in the waves. We all enjoyed watching the kite surfers-many of whom did amazing tricks and would zoom around the boys. At one point, we counted over 60 kites in the sky. It made for a fun day in many ways.
