We had a great time digging for diamonds but unfortunately did not find any! We rented our equipment right at the location. It was very hot so we would recommend bringing a beach umbrella to sit under while out digging.

Yes, until you get to the crater, then it's all field dirt.

About 40 miles. But the trip has some beautiful scenery. The small village of Washington was very interesting to check out on the way back.

The park is open on Sundays. Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for kids ages 6-12, under 6-free. If you have access to their website, there is a lot more information available
