We hiked this trail on a cloudy and misty Thursday about mid day- it was in the 50's most of the day. The hike out was mild- not easy and the hike back to the car was moderate. The dirt road going up to the trailhead was very steep and somewhat narrow, my husband was on edge for the drive,... More

This was by far the best hike that I have ever been on. There are TWO Ways to get to this trail. One way is up a steep road. It is bumpy and ridged. Our low riding vehicle (Dodge Charger) did well going up the road. Scary at times. The opposite road goes to the highway. Now the trail was... More

Absolutely breathtaking views!! It's a must go see! It was a nice hike. Once you get to the Hawksbill Crag and see all beautiful views it makes it all worth it. There were dirt roads going to and from it but they aren't bad at all.

Early morning is the best time to go as the trail gets busy -- very popular hike, but well worth your time!

Being in our early 60's and mid 50's and not in the best of shape, we were a bit hesitant about taking on a three mile hike but we were pleasantly surprised, yes there are challenging areas but it was well worth the effort. Once we get more of these under our belts, maybe we will take on a 5... More

Worth the drive down 6 miles of horrid dirt roads. Hike was on the easy side down to the point but definitely more moderate on the way back. Breathtaking views from the crag.

Of all the hikes I've been on, this has been my favorite. The views are absolutely stunning. I didn't expect such beauty to be found in Arkansas, but the views here were just as beautiful as those in the Gatlinburg area of Tennessee. If you haven't hiked here, you should consider it. You won't be disappointed.

Hiked in early in the morning with two kids (7&8). We took a little over 3 hours round trip but we stopped at a waterfall for 20 min, and again at the lookout for 30 min or so. If we walked straight in and strait out, we could have easily done the round trip in under 2 hours. The road... More

My mistake, going midday on the warmest day of the year thus far... I had the idea to visit Whitaker Point along with all the locals in AR as well as all the tourists. For such a short trail I had never experienced this many people on a trail in my life ( and I'm an avid hiker). Luckily for... More

Loved the view from over the trees while standing on Hawksbill Crag! We happened upon it while hiking through the wilderness area, and WOW! What a view. Although my mom wouldn't stand out on it, I was more than willing to get out there for a picture. Truly incredible feeling to be standing out over the trees and seeing all... More
