This has been a highlight of the trip and honestly all of my travels. Walking through the siq to the treasury by candlelight is a surreal experience. We left the story early so we could walk back by ourselves. That was really cool. Tip: don’t so this the same day as exploring petra during the day. We walked like 14 miles that day.

You will go to the small space in front of the Treasury, and it will be very overcrowded (because of course they only care about selling as many tickets as possible, to make more money). The "show" is absolutely ridiculous, just a random guy playing flute (with very bad sound quality) for some minutes and then telling confused "stories" for about 5 minutes, and that's it. I really felt scammed. Plus, and this is very relevant, it is even dangerous because of the big amount of people stuck in a bottleneck... in case of a sudden emergency, a deadly stampede could happen in seconds. Absolutely save your time and money! Do not feed these trolls!

Not worth it, specially if you already went during the day! The event sincerely doesn't bring anything new and watching the treasury by night with that light isn't worth it...

If you’re reading this, you’re probably in wadi musa or going soon and are going to see Petra in the day. You’re probably wondering if Petra by night is worth it. You’re tempted to go despite the bad reviews because a) you’re there anyway, b) it’s only 17 JD and c) when will you get a chance to see Petra by night again?… Just don’t go. It’s a waste of money and a scam. Maybe it has the potential to be good but they sell too many tickets and so it looks nothing like the photos. It was absolute chaos and poorly organised. There was no redeeming feature and whether you want to go for a nice photo, to enjoy the ‘music’ (ie amateur flutist and tinny recording) or to have some sort of spiritual experience, there really is nothing there for you. We didn’t even receive our promised tea. As I understand it, Petra by Night is run by a private company (not the state or whoever runs the site itself) and it is a genuine embarrassment that they are allowed to continue to run it this way. Don’t be tempted, don’t be fooled by it and just enjoy the amazing site of Petra in the day time.

The walk down to the treasury was nice and we were lucky to have stars as it was a clear night. When we got to the treasury it was already extremely busy, with people sitting in between the 'candles'. It didn't look anything like the pictures. It was very chaotic with people shushing each other. The treasury wasn't lit up at all and barely visible. The show was honestly awful and part of it was a recording rather than live. Overpriced and terrible!
