We had high hopes for this and it delivered well! Tickets are tad expensive for 17 JOD but I suppose it means less crowds. Walk to the treasury is lovely especially on a clear night like we had as the stars are out. Tips: bring something to sit on and a flashlight if possible. Get there early so you get... More

If you are expecting some light show or any kind of show for that matter, you will be sorely disappointed. The extent of the "Petra By Night" is that some areas are lit with candles in brown paper bags, free tea at the Treasury, some guy playing a flute, and, after waiting for 30 minutes, three spotlights on the Treasury.

It could be simply unforgettable if: - people were requested to shut up and don t use their flashes - the few but extremely pungent horse dung could be removed beforehand - the floor mats infront of the Treasury could be more numerous in order to accomodate more rather than less visitors = 70% of people had to sit on... We did this before we visited in daylight. It was great to walk in through the Siq beautifully decorated with candels. A night walk which made the following day's tour a greater experience.?

I'm so glad that i did this. Though entrance fee (17 JD) was not included with my Jordan Pass it was totally worth it. Brought home some great photos and video!

I hesitated about doing the Petra by night after 15+km of walk earlier in the morning but once in front of the Treasury with these 100+ candles enlightening this incredible monument, i definitely didnt regret my decision. Very difficult to find words to describe the magical feel and to have a picture capture the scenery i saw. Make sure you... More

Petra by Nights Tours is not worth going. The only nice thing about it are the 1800 candles that start from the Siq Trail to the front of the Treasury. Once everyone is seated, there will be 2 performances (one flute and one music played through a stereo) - in the dark. Thought the tour officially starts from 8pm -... More

The siq and the treasury are beautifully lit with a 1000 candles! The atmosphere created is magical!! The "show" however was a disappointment, 15 mins of instrumental music and that's it! And even the fact that people where sitting among the candles in front of the treasury ruined the scene. I would suggest that you experience Petra by night before... More

What the ministry of tourism is trying to do is really admirable...however, the tourists were the problem. It was meant to be a silent walk down the candle lit pathway to the treasury. Instead we had large groups of chattering tourists waving moon-reaching torches around and taking endless photos with full flash. The result: you feel like you are on... More

Walking through the Siq at nighttime is a magical experience. The narrow gorge is lit with nothing but candles. From the entrance, it's a 20 minute walk to the Treasury. The area in front of the Treasury is covered with candles. When everyone arrives at the Treasury, visitors are seated on the ground in rows. The show includes a short... More
