When I first saw he treasury it was everything that I thought it would be; beautiful and magestic. The sun doesn't hit it until quite late in the day but in the morning it's lovely and secluded if you get there for sunrise.

As you approach Petra by walking through the Siq, at the end you get a glimpse of the Treasury, a magnificent sight.

We saw this in the morning and again in the afternoon/evening. The color of the facade truly depends on the ambient light and how it falls on the Treasury. Its beauty is in the reveal as you are finishing you walk in the Siq and parts of the treasury come into view- truly amazing. Too bad you cannot enter it... More

At the end of the Siq - you find yourself nose to nose with one of the most incredible, beautiful amazing and unforgettable monuments you'll ever see... Go there early in the morning before the crowds of American and Japanese group tourists invade the place and check the serene atmosphere... Wow!

Petra requires more than a day visit if you want to see all the attractions. The Treasury is only a small portion of the entire park. Walking is the best way to see this but it will take you a few days. There are carriages, horses, camels and donkeys for hire if you get tired. You just need to negotiate... More

Once you leave the Siq and you glimpse The Treasury you know you are in for a wonderful experience. This will also be the first time you realise the extent of the World Heritage site.

The best time to visit the Treasury is 1-2pm when most people are further inside Petra, when the light is still really good.

Petra, A world wonder. I visited Petra two weeks ago with a friend, I have seen pictures of the place before but I never expected the place to be as amazing as I experienced it. I really recommend everyone to visit Petra.
