Petra is huge. So big that even in peak season you can easily find a spot to sit and enjoy the views, without another soul in sight. It does require a lot of walking so comfortable shoes and clothing is an absolute must. Sand will undoubtedly get into your shoes so it's worth stopping every so often to shake them... More

These ruins are amazing to see! There is a lot of walking required so be prepared with great shoes. Also the one thing I wasn't expecting is that there are lots of vendors selling things or trying to get you to take a camel or donkey ride. It was a bit much in my opinion. However everything else was amazing!

Amazing! One of the coolest places I have ever been.dress warmly during the winter, and plan on a ton of walking on some rather rugged terrain. There are too many people trying to sell you crap, even at the top of some of the highest places, which was super annoying. It really is a must see location, so cool!

Located about 300 km from Amman in the southern part of Jordan. It is a must see unique site. To enter Petra fee is to be paid; 1jd for locals and 50 jd for foreigners. It requires over

The sites and views here are one of a kind and amazing. However, the locals ruin this wonder of the world. Be prepared to be swarmed by beggars and bedowins the entire time you are here. There were times when I thought that we were going to get mugged for not accepting a donkey ride. The locals will also try... More

Hassled by vendors. Some were quite friendly some pushy. The visit was well worthwhile, if not the only reason to go to Petra.

Unfortunately I was suffering from a hurt foot so walking was impossible. Thankfully a horse and jig took me down as far as the monastery and it was amazing. There's nothing that can prepare you for when you first set eyes on it, nothing!

Visited here for the day. The walk down to the site is about 1k and remember, you have to walk back up. It's worth having a guide as the commentary is informative. Everyone congregate by the Treasurey Building, once past this, it becomes less busier. There are refreshment units within the attraction and you will not be disappointed with the... More

Petra is a fantastic place to visit. The walk via the passage is awesome. The passage itself has a lot of history. We took a tour with Fun Time Tour and the staff was knowledgeable on the history of the site. We did Petra in one day but some opt to do a 2 day or even 3 day tour.... More

We had a 7yo with us. When asked if he liked Petra, he answered "I loved riding a camel and a donkey !". Personally I have been impressed by the siq , al kazneh and the monastery. I wished the Jordanians put more information signs next to the sites to explain what we saw. I would recommend to Google some... More
