I went to the sanctuary from Hampi JLR heritage resort. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. I was lucky to spot a bear there. This place is entirely different from other south Indian jungles. A must visit.

We spent good 3 hours here having binoculars around our neck , but all we could managr to see was few red faced monkeys and pea cocks . Perhaps we started for the sanctuary , bit late . Howver like all other places in Hampi , this place can also be simply enjoyed by soaking in the calmness and the... More

Firstly finding the place is a bit of a task due to unclear signboards. GPS is truly a blessing. At the gate you are charged an exorbitant 500 bucks for a car entry & Rs. 25/- per adult, we thought we'd atleast spot one out of the hundred & twenty bears. Reception below the first view point was shut and... More

Only place where you see bears are left free, very vast area. Only thing that lacks here is there is no proper Bus facility.

We stayed at Jungle lodges and Resorts Hampi and a visit to Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is part of the package. The sanctuary is about 8 kilometres away from the resort. Unlike other sanctuary’s you can drive into this sanctuary in your own vehicle. You have to drive in about two kilometres and park your vehicle at a particular place... More

Seems attractive at first sight but we were told that there were only 5 bears there recently let loose and there was a minimal chance of sighting them, nor was there enough infrastructure for the forest visit. Best avoided.

if you have spare time after visiting Hampi, you should definitely go and visit Daroji Bear sanctuary. From Kamlapur, you can take a auto. Since it is situated in a remote place, you should plan for the return journey upfront. If you take an auto, hire for to and from. We had paid 600 Rs but I guess the fare... More

This is a natural habitat for bears and we could see about 6 bears coming out of their habitat around 5.30PM. We also could see some wild boars and peacocks during the visit.

They charged Rs 500 for entering the sanctuary. There is really not much there except the Bears which are hard to site. We saw 1 bear from about a KM away. Very disappointing given the money we payed.
