    Hampi - A world apart !
We had heard of Hampi being a UNESCO heritage site and that it’s the biggest open air museum of the world but didn’t expect it to be such a fulfilling trip . The monuments are related to 2 eras - 16th century and the time of Ram . Whatever has been restored has been so painstakingly done …. Hats off to the ASI! The views have giant boulder formations that seem impossible to be not made by man and there are areas where there are no buildings in site . So this would have looked the same a few hundred years ago . The Coracle boat ride is unreal - it feels like a time capsule for a short frame of time . The intellect and craft and the riches apparent from the stories of the monuments are shocking . This is why I did was called the Golden Bird ! Now we know! But believe me it’s fun only with a good guide who will show you the places in the right sequence following the story line and explain the finer details that you will never find on google . We were blessed to find Bhanu . He is a historian and specialises in Hampi , is so knowledgeable and good with all the questions our group bombarded him with . Special bonus he clicks INSANE pics . He knows all the best spots and angles . So our memories are going to always remain exotic . He is available at 9449409070. 2 days in Hampi with him and you will fall in love with history even if that was your least favourite subject in school !

Hampi and its guide, Mr. Bhanu Prakash
Hampi is truly an Amazingly beautiful place and it should be everybody's bucket list. The atmosphere and the vibe of the town just sweeps you away. Each and every stone and boulder tells a different story. Be it from the spiritual point of view as it is said to be the kishkinda nagri of Bali and Sugreev or from the historical point of view, the richness and depth of its history is unmatched. Being a UNESCO protected heritage site, its yet not over commercialised and has a magical aura about it. We were shown around the city by our amazing guide, Bhanu whose de pth of knowledge and style of narrating was unmatched. Not only that, his photography skill also need a special mention here. Not only did he bring Hampi alive for us by his tours and narrations, he also helped us capture our memories by some spectacular and patient photography. I would highly recommend looking him up if anybody visits hampi. Im also mentioning his number here. Bhanu prakash : +91 94494 09070

Best guide for visiting the biggest open museum in the world
Bhanu, is a complete package who’s got a natural passion of story telling and photography. He brought the Ramayana as well as the Vijaynagar empire alive for us with his in-depth knowledge and his personal collection of photos that depict the relics. Our Hampi experience wouldn’t have been the same without you Bhanu. Thank you.

Hampi and it's elegance with our guide Bhanu
I had the pleasure of exploring the historical wonder of Hampi with Bhanu as our guide. His knowledge of the place and its rich history was truly commendable. Bhanu's planning and execution ensured that we covered all significant sites efficiently and without missing out on any hidden gems. His passion for Hampi was evident in the way he narrated its tales, making our experience unforgettable. I highly recommend Bhanu to any tourists visiting Hampi. He's not just a guide, but a storyteller who brings the ancient city to life! Not to forget his excellent photography skills is icing on the cake!! He can be contacted @+91 94494 09070

Just completed a fabulous 2 day tour of Hampi with Mr Bhanu Prakash as our guide. Bhanu is extremely personable, very knowledgable about history as well as mythology/stores, and knows the magnificent sites of Hampi like the back of his hand. He tailored an itinerary based on our specific interests. In addition to showing us temples, ruins, and sweeping vistas, he arranged a safari/bear viewing at the sloth bear sanctuary. (Guaranteed close-up bears, but they attract them using jaggery so it feels a bit icky, though much better than a zoo.) Very importantly, in addition to curating a most memorable trip for us, he solidified those memories by taking stunning photos; he has a great eye in addition to knowing the best spots. He traveled along in our car with our family of 4 plus driver. I booked his services directly rather than going through our resort, via WhatsApp (9449409070). I very highly recommend this guide!

I visited Hampi some day ago. Raja was my great guide. I already know something about Indian mythology and architecture. Raja guided me into a full-depth comprehension of the monuments and the meaning of statues and symbols, clarifying my doubts and expanding my knowledge. He is also very kind and patient. Highly recommended. Thank you Rajaji! His contact number is (+918073874131)

Hampi is the biggest excavated site in India. Its temples and monuments speak many a great stories of ramayana, Vishnu and Shiva. Going to hampi and not taking a guide is meaningless. A good guide brings these stories along with monuments to life. Our guide Mr. Hussein made the whole trip a memorable one. His knowledge on subject was deep. His contact number

Travelling in South India I spent several days at Hampi. The highlight was my tour with Hussen, a trained archaeologist and certified tourixt guide who has deep knowledge about the temples, their idols and carvings and Hindu culture. Don't fall for the Rikshaw deivers who can't enter the temples. Here is his contact:

Hampi is extremely interesting, but it helps to have private transport to get around and, in particular a good guide. The whole city (one of the biggest in the world) was burnt down about 500 years ago), and since much was constructed in wood, what remains are mostly extensive stone monuments. If you do decide to use a guide, we had a very good experience with Mr. Hussen, tel n° +91 94487 19147, mail: guidehussen@gmail.com . Great English and very knowledgeable and good at explaining all the historical and cultural things you need to know to understand this fascinating place. (Plus Mr Hussen took over on our second day, after we had had a very mediocre day on the first day with a guide recommended by the hotel!) We do recommend 2 full days to see the city and understand it.

it was a beautiful experience , felt it was like going back in time , it is definitely better to do this trip in cooler weather as most of the monuments are out in the open & hardly any shade. Its ideal for a 2-day trip . the elephant stables , lotus mahal which are all in one particular fortified structure is a must see. the matunga hill with its temple on top is also really good. the Hemakuta hill with its group of temples and structures are a definite must do. Anegundi with its fort & temples was also interesting.
the Vijaya Vittala temple with its iconic stone chariot is not to be missed . We took a guide for one day where we covered most of the historical places, the next day we did on our own. there's a Hampi by night show for those who are interested.

Steeped in history, architecture and sculpture, Hampi is a magical place which comprises mostly of the ruins of the once powerful Vijayanagar empire. The group of monuments at Hampi are listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. All the monuments are very well maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. Some of the sites are free and a few ticketed. You would need at least two full days to do justice to what is one of India's most interesting sights. Summers in the area can be torrid; so plan your trip in winter. Hampi can be accessed from other cities by train or bus. You need to get down at Hospet and take a local bus or auto-rickshaw to Hampi. We did the trip in our own car. The road from Hospet to Bangalore was good
