A must see when you visit Kythera, stunning views, a real trip into history. Continue with the narrow streets of Hora and take a brake in Hora center, for a coffee!

Beautiful views of the Kapsali double bays from above. Best to go in the afternoon when its not too hot and then stay in the capital Choro for an evening walk through the small shops of Chora and then for a meal or drinks or for an ice cream.

You pass through a picturesque square at Kythera town that has many tavernas, post office and shops around it and has good views.along the walk are apartments, bars and hotels . Climbing the steep stone path is quite slippery and uneven surfaces so good runners helpful. The top... More

This old fortress in Kythira Town is absolutely worth a visit. I would also recommend walking down the path from outside the fortress to the little town of Kapsali (by the sea). The first meters are very step, but afterwards it's a pretty easy hike. A stunning view all the way!

This the 3rd and newest castle built to protect the 3rd and last capital of the island of Kythira (1st castle and capital destroyed by Barbarossa, 2nd by pirates). As a result it was built on a formidable spot to have the best views to every direction and was heavily fortified. Although the visitor might not find it "well preserved"... More

Very well preserved castle with excellent view. Do not miss the small churches inside and right outside the castle (Mesa & Exo Vourgou) if they're open.

A true representative from Venetian era, this castle oversees Kapsali bay and offers to visitors a great opportunity to mix the beauty of history with the fantastic views. While most visitors only take photos - a must - take some time to explore the churches around. Wait no guides for this castle.
